A Cyclone Story.
One of the most peculiar results of last Sunday’s cyclone can be seen in East Jacksonville. A large oak tree was twisted by the force of the wind half way round, yet remained upright, and there are no splits or cracks visible upon its surface. This in itself would not be so peculiar were it not for the fact that the tree still stays in its new position, and the limbs which were previously ou the west side are now on the east. The body of the tree is probably split so that it will eventually die, but the bark seems to have remained un r broken and intact, and therein lies the peculiarity.—Florida TirnesUnion. *
