Locomotive Stolen.

A curious mishap has occurred on a local railway near Lyons. The train which reaches the former town from Trevoux at 7.30 being considerably behind time, the Lyons station-master telegraphed to his colleague at the other ond of the line. The answer he obtained was a strange oneβ€”β€œ Engine stolen. Send one from Lyons.” On inquiry it turned out that the story was true. The engine driver could find his engine nowhere. Later on the locomotive was discovered at a considerable distance off on the line, whither, no doubt, some practical joker, supposed to be a former driver in the service of the company, had taken it and left it. β€”[London Telegraph.
