Canadians Like Cheap Sugar.

Because of the repeal of the duty ,on raw sugar in the United States the Canadian Government has been .Obliged to make siinilar concessions. The opportunity of smuggling necessitated such a policy. As a result there is a shortage of revenue and an increase of Canadian debt. There is no argument for reciprocal commercial understanding hetween the two countries more impressive than the inability to maintain unequal tax rates on articles of importation.
