Every other powder tested exhibited a much lower strength than the Royal, the average being 33 per cent. less. Every other powder likewise showed the presence of alum or sulphuric acid. The claim that this report shows any other powder of superior strength or purity has been denounced as a falsehood by the Government officers who made the tests. Avoid all baking powders sold with a gift or prise, or at a lowor price than the Boyal, as they invariably contain alum, lime or sub phurio acid, and render the food unwholesome.
