Too Old.

If there are any ewes in the flock that are too old to be of service, the best time to sell them is in early fall, when they will be in as good condition as they will reach. When aged the ewes require more grain in the winter to make them fat than they are worth. Keep the grain for the use of more profitable and younger stock. A telegraph operator recently glided down Pike’s Peak on the cog track, using a rude but active toboggan, trhich he steadied with his feet. He n ide the distance of nine miles and dj scent of 8,000 feet in 11J minutes. When his breath had caught up wi: h him he used some of it to remark in effect that the scenery en route tad not impressed him much, »but a [nowledge of how big a fool he was 1 ad been burnt into his very sole.
