‘ ‘The churches of Moscow are queerlooking gingerbread affairs,” writes a traveller in Russia, “with a lot of to-mato-shaped, turrets to them. Som. have half a dozen towers of brass, others of green, others of blue metal, and on the whole the color effects are charming. The broken bell in the Kremlin is large enough for a family to camp out in. We have seen the old intense smelling church where the coronations take place and were much edified by the savor of ambiguity that emanated from everything.” —!Boston Transcript.
