RECEPTION TO MAYOR HAMMOND’
[Hammond Daily Nows, Friday.] Mayor Hammond and the Aammond delegation arrived by bus from Maynard last night and were met at Carroll street by alarge and wildly enthusiastic crowd of Dtmoorats accompanied by the Calumet k and. Our next congressman was transferred to a carriage and driven to hie home accompanied by the band and a long line of friends who wiil drop Hammond votes into the ballot box in November. Briefly he thanked the gathering for their reception and unmistakeable appreciation of the work of the congressional convention. The Demoeraoy here are simply dazzled by the euooess whioh a few days ago was scarcely thought of. Lake oounty will do a great work thie fall. Mayor Hammond’s nomination rounds out the good nominations heretofore made and assures, we firmly believe, success in the district as well rb the oounty. Lake county Democracy h s something to work for this year, and she will work as she never did before. The Demooraoy of the 10th district looks to Lake county to fulfill expectations, and wo oannotjifford to disappoint them. Every Demoorat has a work to do and must be awake to every opporrunity from now until the pollß olose iu November,
