Some enterprising land owners propose to deepen the channel of the Iroquois river from a point at the foot of the rapids so as to better all the lands in the central portion of Jasper county The project contemplat e removing Ihe ledge of rock a Rensselaer, Indiana. The Copperas creek and Stump slough with Haddox mill pond are all to be drained west through Barkley township, entering the Iroquois river near the Burk bridge. It is proposed to make the main outlet fifty feet wide. All tai ls of the drain to be at least, fifteen feet wide, six feet deep and to have a fa’l of not less than one foot to the mile. The principle of assessing benefits contemplates that the laud tributary to each lateral shell pay in full therefor and contribute equitably toward ad the work below the outlet.
Any person owning lands on any tributary can, by signing this petition, secure the ditch he wants. Ihe main channel ought to commence in Starke county in the natural water course known us Stamp slough. \\ T e nope your leaders will investigate the merits •-f tins proposed improvement and assist to.accomplish the very best result at the least cost fairly distributed. A FORTUNE Inherited by few, is pure blood, free from hereditary taint. Catarrh, consumption, rheumatism, Scrofula, and many other maladies bom in the blood, can be effectually eradicated only by the use of powerful alteratives. The standard specific for this purpose —the one best known and approved —is Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, the compound, concentrated extract of Honduras sarsaparilla, and other powerful altera, tives. “I consider that I have been &AVED several hundred dollars’ expense, by using Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, and would strongly urge all who are troubled with lameness or rheumatic pains to give it atrial. lam sure it will do them permanent good, as it lias done me.”—Mrs. Joseph Wood, West Plattsburgh, N. Y. Dr. J. W. Shields, of Smlthvllle, iTenn., says: “I regard Ayer’s Sarsaparilla as the best blood medicine on eartb, and know of many wonderful cures effected by its use.” “ For many years I was laid up with Scrofula, no treatment being of any benefit. At length I was recommended to give Ayer’s Sarsaparilla a trial. I did so, and
By Taking about a dozen bottles, was restored to perfect health—weighing 230 pounds—and am now a believer in the merits of Ayer’s Sarsaparilla.”—James Petsy, Mine Boss, Breckenridge Coal Co. (Limited), Victoria, Ky. “ My niece, Sarah A. Losee, was for years afflicted with scrofulous humor in the blood. About 18 months ago she began to use Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, and after taking three bottles was completely cured.” E. Caffall, P. M., Losee, Utah. Ayer’s Sarsaparilla PBKPJLRRB BY * Dr. J. C.
