May 28,1853 —Session met and received Mrs. E. Pureupile and Mrs. Louisa Turner by letter. July 2, 1853—John Wilson, Jno. A. Wilson, and Mrs. Sarah MeUle were dismissed by letter to unite with the Bethel ohuroh on Carpenter creek. July 17,1853— Rev. J. M. Wampler, of Monticello, being present was invited to act as moderator. Henry Branden, Jane Branden his wife; and Samuel L. Fullen wider were received by letter, and Mrs. Jane Chestnut was at her own request dismissed to unite with the Bethel church. May 27, ’s4—Rev. E. W. Wright being present was invited to act as moderator. John Coen and Ezra Wright elders present. Mrs. MaS Jane Terhune was received from e Bethel church by letter, and John McCarthy a"d M. J. The city of Dunuville boasts a ‘ Spook.” A young man from the “backwoods” was so badly frighted as to ake the first train for his naive soil.
