3Rev . George Havens, for over fifty years a methodist minister oi. the, gospel and well known thro’out the state, died at Ladoga, Ind., 'Tuesday, March 8, 1892. Father Havens was the father of Mrs. Nat. S. Bates, of this place, and for a number of years was a resident of Rensselaer. He was a gentleman of film convictions, and had the nerve in all places a d at all times to maintain and defend them. Funeral services and interment at Indianapolis yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Bates were in attendance at the funeral.

John Bill and Mary Shindler were married at the residence of the bride’s father, west of Rensselaer, last Sunday. Rev. Drake officiated. James I. Childers and Ida Digman were married at the Gos House, in Rensselaer, last Sunday. Justice Morgan officiated. An Encampment of I. O. O. !• was organized in Rensselaer last Tuesday evening.
