Mending a Broken Ship.

The steamer Castlemaine, lad, n with 1400 tons of wheat, was wrecked while entering one of tho English ports, the hull subsequently breaking apart amidships. After removing the cargo, temporary bulkheads were erected in each half of the hull, the water was pumped out and the two parts were towed into port. Apart from the breakage of the hull there was little damage done, and it is proposed to join the sundered portions and repair the ship.—[Philadelphia Record.
