Loughridge amputated the left hand of Sam P«owers, of near Julian, made necessary by acorn husking machine. S. P. Howard, formerly a resident of Rensselaer, died at his home, Wichita, Kansas, Friday morning of last week.

The ice harvest is on, and our ice men are putting up large supplies of good quality. Fredeiick Walter, infant son of John and May Eger, died today, aged 6 months and 22 days. Last Friday ev ning E. Last Friday afternon the tenement house on a farm belonging to John Makeevei, a tew miles northwest of town, was destroyed by fire. John Guss, sr., of Union township, is said to be dangerously ill.
