OLD AND SPRY.

Deacon Price, of Manchester, Mass., is said to he the oldest school-teacher in the country. Ho was born in 1808. Joseph Taper, a negro, gave a peculiar reason for trying to hang himself in Pittsburg the other day. lie is now 107 years old, and ho had given up the hope of ever dying in the naturul way. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Osborne, of Knoxville, Tenn., are soon to celebrate the seventy-second anniversary of their marriage. They are respectively 101 and 92 years of ago, and have 290 descendants. Old Lady Aylesbury is one of the most extraordinary figures in London society. She is nearly 80 and wears a wig of oorkscrew curls. She is noted as the possessor of a sharp tongue, ami her language is at all times picturesque and vigorous. Miss Fannie Fnlkenhurg, who celebrated her 100th birthday in Now York a few days ago, is a native of Germany, and can perfectly recall seeing Napo.eon at the bead of his troops on a black charger at the time when lie invaded Germany. Nathaniel Holland, of Hnrrc. Me., though 98 years old, Is one of the most active men in the buy field in all tlie neighborhood. He lias swung a scythe since lie was 12 years old, ami whenever tho liny is ready for cutting lie takes the leading swath.—[New York Press.
