Lewis Bowers, of Newton county, superintending a corn sh acker on A. McCoy’s farm, near Marl • boio, Tuesday last had two fingers torn from his hand. Drs. Loughridge have the case in charge. The youngest child of Asa Baker dislocated an arm recently, when and how is not known, It was brought to Drs. Loughridge one day this week and afforded such relief as was possibh . . Charley Hammond has now a lively home —twins, a boy and girl. “At last, I can eat a good square meal without its distressing me!” was the grateful exclamation of one whose appetite had been restored by the use of Ayer’s Sarsaparilla, after years of dyspeptic misery. A teaspoonful of this extract before each meal sharpens the appetite. Jay W. Williams is able to be about again. The Berry Brothers have disposed of their stock of groceries to Laßue Brothers. N. J. York wcrked up the sale. Misses Mae Kendall, Ida Murray, Faling, and Bennett, of Monticello, visited friends in R rsselaer last week. By the accidental discharge of a gun in the hands of Will Towers, Thanksgiving d»y, his comGnion, Jesse Ball, was shot in the j, just above the knee. Sore Throat Bronchitis, colds, coughs, asthma, and even consumption, in the early stages, yield to Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral. Singers, actors, auctioneers, public speakers, clergymen, teachers, lecturers, and all who are liable to disorder of the vocal organs, find a sure remedy in this wonderful and well-known preparation. As an emergency medicine, in cases of croup, whooping cough, etc., it should be in every household. “Two years ago I suffered severely from an attack of sore throat And Bronchitis It aeoMd aS if I could not survive, all the usual remedies proving of no avail. At last I thought of Ayer's Cherry Pectoral, and after taking two bottles of this medicine I was restored to health.” Chas. Gamblni, Smith’s Bauch, Sonoma Co., Cal. “There is nothing better for coughs than Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral. I use no other preparation.”—Annie 8. Butler, Providence, E. I. W. H. Graff & Co., Druggists, Carson, lowa, certify that aU throat and lung trouble* are speedily Cured By Using Ayers Cherry Pectoral. It leads afl others. “la January, 1880,1 was taken down with measles and scarlet fever, and exposing myself too soon, eaught a severe cold which settled on my lungs. I was forced to take to ray bed and was so ill that the doctors despaired of my recovery, supposing me to be in quick consumption. Change of climate was recommended, but I began to use AysTs Cherry Pectoral, and soon found relief. The way in which republican official rascals are dealt with i republican states is illustrated by the action of the republican senate of Pennsylvania in the ase of Treasurer Boyer and Auditor General McCamaat. Their official negligence and open disr gard of law resulted in the robbery of the Penns Ivania state treasur to the extent of hundreds of thousands cf dollars, charges were preferred against them. A 'eglslative investigation wasbegu. before the rece t election a nd dragged along until after the people of Pennsylvania had voted, Nov. 3, that they had preferred to be ruled by thieves. A good deal of very st ong evidence against Boyer and McCamant had been brought out and it was found impossible to establish even a plausible basis for their acquittal on the facts. So resort was had to flimsy technicalities, and after spending a month in pre ended investigation, having refused to consider the question of jurisdiction at the outset, the senate dec’ded by a strict party vote that it hid no jurisdiction. This action is taken in open defiance of » clear constitutional mandate. — Really, is there a viler, fouler thing on the face of the earth than Pennsylvania republicanism?— Indianapolis Sentinel.
