“What impressed you most?" “Why, the sight of the American flag on the banks of tho Rhine," was tho quick response. “How did it occur?" “Well, we were going by boat up tho Rhine. We started about 8 o’clock in the morning in a heavy rain and with poor prospects of a pleasant trip. It soon cleared ud, however, and then It was delightful. About half way up we saw a cottage with the American flag floating from apoe on the roof. There wero nearly 300 people on the boat, and would you believe it, over 100of,them were Americans.
