Henry Platt, an old resident es Rensselaer, died very suddenly at his home, Thursday morning, from rheumatism of the heart Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Drake, at M. E. church, this afternoon. Age about 66 years. Charley, son of Mi. and Mrs. Jno. W. Medicus, died last Saturday morning, aged abo t 5 years. Fuueral services and interment on following Sabbath, Lou., daughter of Heniy I. Adams, died at the home of her father in Jordan township, after a very brief illness, last Saturday. Rev. U. M McGuire conducted funeral services at Egypt sehool house last Sunday. Interment in Welsh cemetery. Age, about 11 years. “Lei.” Clark, of the “Pilot,“and Miss Allie D. Shriver wereimaired at the residence of the officiating clergyman, Rev. I. I. Gorby, last Saturday evening. We wish the young couple much joy. Rev. I. I Gorby and wife, Modems Kelley and Purcupile, Misses Franc McEwen, Blanche Loughridge, Edith Miller, and E der Hellister and Win. Wood a tended Presbytery at Monticello, this week. Miss Mamie Williams and Geo. Dunn have gone to DePauw University. Mrs. Geo. B. Park! on is receiving treatment for rheumatism at Cameron Springs. Miss Grace Nichols and Will Hammond will attend Bloomington University. Miss Jean Hammond has returned to Notre Dame. The 7-year old daughter of Wm. Dull, jr., Barkley township, last Saturday fell and dislocated an elbow. Postmaster Ed. D. Rhoades will inspect the post-offices of Jas per county. A new daughter at Con. Hildebrand’s, Wednesday. Fire was discoveied issuing from Cal. Porter’s barn Sunday. While returning from Henry Platt’s funeral, this afternoon, Mrs. Zacher and her son were precipitated from the conveyance, t>y a loose seat. The young man receiving severe injuries. Dr. Loughride and wife, attended the Annual picnio, of the Monon Railway Physicians at Cedar Lake, yesterday.
