Got it in the Neck.
A Hebrew, lately from Russian Poland, saw a sign in German jargon over a drag store in Ludlow street bearing the legend, “Death to Bugs and Insects.” He entered, and, moving uneasily in his clothes, asked the clerk how little of the “death” he could buy, ns he wsb very poor, and was informed that he could have five cents’ worth. “Vel, mein friend, give me dot ehtoff for sins cent," was the response. The clerk pioceeded to weigh out some yellow powder and put it up in paper, when the Hebrew excitedly exclaimed, while pulling aside his shirt-collar: “Shtop! shtop! put a leedle of dat in moin neck!" —Xew York Mercury.

Regimental Women.

Following “the lady of the regiment” are women whose husbands are of lesser note, closely veiled, one Upon either side of a plodding male, while a donkey trots stolidly on, bearing all equipments and comforts for the day.
