Herr Bismarck's Boots.
Prince Bismarck taught a Berlin shoemaker, who was proverbial for making promises which he did not keep, ho w to be punctual. The man after man v promises, had failed to keep them. When this again occurred, the shoemaker was aroused at 6 o’clock the next morning by a messenger with the simple question: “Are Herr Bismarck’s boots ready yet?” When the shoemaker said “No,” he retired; bnt in ten minutes another messenger arrived. Load rang the bell. “Are Herr Bismarck’s boots ready yet?” was the inquiry. “No," was the reply. And so it went on every ten minutes until the boots were rerdy iu the evening. The shoemaker war more cautious iu making promises after that.
