Thomas A. Deblois of Portland was one of the witty Maine lawyers of whom interesting.stories are told. At one time Judge Nicholas Emory, who was particularly sensitive to jokes at his own expenser had repeatedly rebuked Deblois* for aliened departure from the rules of propriety. He being specially .pointed at one time, the counselor retorted: “I beg your honor’s pardon. Your honor is right and I was wrong, as your honor usually is.” —Lewiston Journal,
