An increase of pension has been granted John Zimmerman. Now is a good time to bring in that wood. Mrs. Crillia Baker was granted a divorce at this term of ccurt. A finer line of embroideries a id laces can not be found anywhere than that carried by R. Fendig. R. Fendig’s stock of shawls flannels and yarns is now complete. Lacy Gwin has gone to take charge of a night office on the Nortnern Pacific RR. U. Murray has been transferred to this place. R. Fendig defies competit.on on the prices and styles of his overcoats. Bruce Carr, Auditor of State, visited Rensselaer last Saturday, to look after she sale of a piece of state land in this county. A complete line of hats have been received at R. Fendig’s, in all the modern styles, which will be sold at modetn prices. John H. Shaffner died at his home in Wheatfield township, last Saturday afternoon, at tne venerable age of over 93 years. Mr. E. T>. Gamble, of Peru, an old pioneer book agent, is in Rensselaer. He represents the P. F. Collier publishing house, of New York, with a fine line of cheap and valuable books. His Lord LyU ton’s works are especially flue, at prices and terms that brings them within reach of all. Bouthit, Esq., now occupis the room back of the Rensselaer Bank, Nowels bui’ding, with his law office/ Rev. R. M. Simmons, of the Rensselaer M. E. Circuit, is conducting an interesting series of meetings at the Egypt school house, jordan township. Al. Bryer, manufacturer of the celebrated “Mascot” cigar, has moved his cigar factory into Geo. Hollingsworth’s room recentlv occupied as a meat market. DJ as. W. Bouthit, Esq, was called to Indianapolis, Tuesday on account of sickness of sister-in-law in that city.

The dedicatory exercises of the new M. E. church will be held on Sunday, January 26th. The fatewell services in the old church will be held on the preceding Saturday afternoon, conducted by Presiding Elder J. L. Smith. The dedicatory sermon will be preached on Sunday morning by Bishop Merrill, of Chicago. Preaching in the evening by Rider J. H. Cissel, of Lafayette.
