Answering an inquiry as to how trees may be killed, one correspondent recommends muriatic acid, saying it was used by a telegraph company to kill trees that were in the way of their lines. Another reader recommends boring a hole at the base of the tree and filling with erude kerosene. Some leaves must be tacked ovor the hole w> keep out the rain.
