WHEAT GROWERS TO CONVENE

Farmers of the Mississippi Valley to Meet in St. Louis. A St. Louis dispatch says: Arrangements for the convention of the wheat growers of the Mississippi valley, to be held here Oct. are progressing favorably. The principal objects are the format! »n of a wheat growers’ association and action to insure to farmers a better control of prices and commercial systems now in force. "Walter N. Allen, president of the Farmers’ Federation of the Mississippi Valley, has assurance that there will be a large attendance at the convention. Fair Retires from the Nevada Bank. San Francisco (Cal.) dispatch: ExSenator James G. Fair has resigned from the positions of president and director of the Nevada bank on the ground of press of other business. The stockholders accepted his resignation and elected James ' L. Flood presiden t of the bank.
