Last Monday Hettie Zaker, a young g'rl living near Surry, was bitten by a rattlesnake. Whiskey, liberally administerd, gave relief. Leopold is selling lots on the monthly installment plan—ss per month, and hree years time to complete the payments. Last evening Hettie Blankenba er, Lucy Marlatt, Lillie ,Borem, Mrs. and Mary McCully wore baptised by immersion.in the river, by Elder Rob’t. Fall. Dr. S. W. He expects to spend the winter in the southern part of this State* Mrs. Frank Padgitt and Miss .Bonebrako have returned from their visit among friends at Bisma’rck, 111. Charley Wren and wife expect soon to make a tour through the west, visiting friends and making observations of the country. W. R. Nowels, at the elevator, keeps repairs for the Peerless reaper and mower. Geo. K. Hollingsworth expects soon to take charge of a Dwiggins Syndicate Bank at Churubusco, Whitley County, Indiana. Geo. W. Casey, Fair Oaks, is agent for the Peerl ss Machine Co. John Macy, of Indianspolis, is visiting his mother, Mrs John Makeever, and other friends in Renssel&er. Some outbuildings near the residence of Frank C. Moore, in Barkley township, were destroyed by fire the other day. The assistance of neighbors saved the resi deuce and furniture. Supposed to have originated from a defective flue.
