Democratic Sentinel, Volume 13, Number 6, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 1 March 1889 — “Weakness.” [ARTICLE]
“Weakness.”
* That there can be different senses to a word which seems to have but a single meaning is illustrated by this incident. A Boston rogue, who was charged with having stolen a grindstone, was asked by the lawyer who prosecuted him. “Yon took this man’s grindstone ?” “I did, sir.” “How did you come to do such an act?” “It was in a moment of weakness, sir. ” “Weakness, indeed! What would you have taken if you had felt strong? Bunker Hill Monument?”
