HOUSEKEEPERS’ HELPS. Appe Custard. —A nice apple ou» tard is made of one pint of apple sauce, one pint of sweet milk, and three eggs. Flavor and sweeten to taste. To bo baked with an under crust. Oatmeal Muffins. One cup oatmeal, one and a half pints flour, one teaspoon of salt, two of baking-powder, one pint of milk, onq table-spoon of lard, two eggs. Mix smoothly into a batter rather thinner than for cup cakes. Fill the muffin rings two-third* full and bake in a hot oven. Cookies Without Egos. —Take two cups of sugar, one cup of butter, one cup of sweet milk, one teaspoonful of soda or baking-powder, and flour enough- to make a soft dough. Roll thin and bake in a quick oven. Hot water enn be used in the place oi the milk with very good results. To Speak Good English. Rev.
