The Oldest Soldier.

Larious Smith, who recently died in Vermont at the age of. 92, is thought to have been the oldest soldier in the civil war. In 1863 he enlisted in Company I, Twelfth Vermont Volunteers, being at that time 67 years old. He did not look it. being remarkably strong and-vigorous, and at the time of his death did not appear to be over 60 years old. The lowa Graybeards hud some pretty old men in their ranks, but it is doubtful if any were as old as Larious.
