The Drama in Chicago.
The oldest theater in Chicago—Me- • Vicker’s—which has been under the management of the veteran J. H. McVicker since its foundation, has entered upon its thirty-second year. For the season of 1888-9 an unrivaled array of attractions is offered, including Joseph Jefferson, Lotta, Maggie Mitchell, Margaret Mather, Mlle. Rhea, Mrs. Potter, Mary Anderson, Denman Thompson, Mrs. Langtry, Annie Pixley, W. J. Florence, Coquelin, the great French comedian, and many other stars of world-wide fame. The Reason opens this week with Imre Kiralfy’s production of the famous Ravel pantomime, “Mazulin, the Night Owl,” an entertainment combining all the well-known spectacular features associated with Kiralfy productions and the mirthful drolleries of a pantomime performance. .
