WILLIAM K. PARKISON
Died at his home, in Barkley twp. Tuesday morning las* after a long illness, aged about 68 Mr. Parkison was one of the oldest settlers of the county. As a citizen, he was upright, honest , and enterprising, and tilled many positions of trust As a neighbor he was held in high esteem. He was a loving husband, a kind anc indulgent father. Funeral services were conducted under direction of Prairie Lodge, F. & A. M., at Barkley church, Wednesday afternjon, and was largely attended. Peace to his ashes. There are now in the Indian school at this place, 20 Dacotahs, 16 Chippewas and 9 Menominees. Dr. Wm. Bowman has located in DeMotte. G. B. Antrim is building a house on his farm, three miles south of DeMotte. Hon. V. Zimmerman, at DeMotte, next Wednesday evening. Dave Shields is a “hustler,” and will ‘hustle’ Hon. V. Zimmerman from Wheatfield to DeMotte, next Wednesday. Le* E. Glazebrook and D. B. Nowels at Hershman school house next Wednesday evening. Alf. McCoy has 800 sheep on his farm in Hanging Grove. A recent purchase in Chicago.
J. W. Duvall has removed his Grocery store into Geo. Hollingsworth’s room. Miss M. M. Hill is visiting Rensselaer friends. Will Eger has moved into his handsome new residence. Mrs. Lizzie Lester, of Alliance, Nebraska, is visiting old home and f riends in Rensselaer. Democratic Pole raising at Wheatfield next Wednesday. Ed. Bass struck and quit on James’Democrat! this week. He . las gone to his home in Lafayefte. On the first day of school, in Rensselaer, there was an attendance of 349 pupils, a large increase over the commencement ast year. Jos. Yeoman, of Newton township, has purchased 20 acres in Thompson’s addition [to the Town of Rensselaer, will erect a new residence and become a citizen in ;he near future.
