A South Carolina Woman.

A woman of Hampton County, South Carolina, 43 years of age, has followed the plow and engaged in the usual round of farm labor for thirty years. She dug one well, built five chimneys, and frequently split 100 rails a day. She has a good home, enjoys excellent health, and is sending her children to school regularly. The policemen of the country say they will make no reduction in their clubbing rates to anarchists.—Springfield Republican.
