Depew’s Strength In New York.

Col. Dave Littler has been over to New Vork for a few days smelling around the political centers to see what he can find out, and he comes back to Washington convinced that Chauncey Depew is an active and a strong candidate for the Presidency. The New York delegation will be solid for him, Mr. Littler thinks, although there will probably not be any attempt to instruct them. The State ticket will be Miller for Governor and Sloan for Lieutenant Governor, a stalwart and a half-breed, and will unite the whole party on the old lines.— Washington cor. Chicago News.
