FRIENDSHIP TRIBUTES.
Highmore, Dak ,Feb. 17, ’BB. Dear Mac: It was with profound sorrow that I learned of the death of our mutual, personal and political friend Henry A. Barkley. He was a man of strict integrity, noble impulses and warm friendships, md in his death Jasper connty loses one of her best and most highly esteemed citizens. That man never walked or breathed who possessed a larger degree of honesty and integrity than di Henry A. Barkley, and I think that he was the most loyal man to his party and political convictions that I ever knew. I valued his friendship more then I c»n command language to express an t in common with his heart-stricken family, sorrowing friends, and the political party of w ich he vas a wise and trusted leader, I sincerely mourn. He has passed from the scenes of earth, but he leave? behind him a record that is as bright as the sun, and his name and memory will be forever cherished in the hearts and affections of the countless friends who knew and loved him.

I unite wite you m sorrow and regret at the decea e of our m. tual friend Henry A. Barkley. He was a true friend, a model citizen, a man of honor and strict integrity. His exemplary life —quiet and useful—stood out brightly m the community wher? he was so long and favorably known.
