Hideous in Every Guise,

Whether it be the best known form, chills and fever, or else bilious remittent, double ague or ague cake, is that abominable disorder involving the liver, the bowels and the kidneys, known as malaria. Every complaint classified under this generic, though erroneous appellation, is destructive of the nervous system, but is, unhappilly, not to be subdued, or even checked, by the use of ordinary nervines, febrifuges or tonics.
