The Republican Candidate for Secretary of State In New York. We present herewith an excellent portrait of Colonel Frederick D. Grant, whom
the Republicans of New York have placed in nomination for Secretary of Stats. Colonel Grant is about 36 years old, and somewhat taller than his father. “No, Maria,” said a Jersey granger to his wife, as they were about retiring at a summer-resort hotel; “I think I know too much to blow out the gas.
