Wren, station agent, has been on the sick list since Monday. See those new combination suits at Fendig’s. A son to Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Ross last Sunday. Roberts keeps the best agricultural machinery, farm wagons, buggies, etc., on the market. Aunt Beckie Grant, aged 85 yrs., died at the residence of Alt. Grant on Wednesday morning last. Linen towels, table-cloths and napkins, at Fendig’s. The Remington Fair will commence on Tuesday, September 6th, and continue four days. Percy Taylor, at the Porter hay barn, pays the top of the marke for hay. Remember that, and give him a call. Charley Porter has accepted the position of telegraph operator at Little Rock, Ark. Golden opportunities, silver bargains. and nickle specialties, at R. Fendig’s.
The Jasper County Fair will commence next Tuesday and close on the evening of the f. Rowing Friday. At the baby show last Tuesday evening, the babies of Mrs. Wm. Eger and Mrs. Lota Jones, took first and second prizes, in the order named, in the two year class, and in the one year class the babies of Mrs. Horace E. James, and Mrs. John Medicus. From the manner in which the officers of the Jasper County Agricultural Society have got c own to work, it is very evident the people are taking more interest in the success of the Fair. We trust the exhibits and display will be vastly more numerous than ever heretofore. New backgrounds, new camera, new balustrade, new burnisher andrew ideas! He had taken a horse from a hi'ehing-post in Remington and came to Jim Rogers’, a few miles west of this place, where he and the horse were found. As he had made no attempt to conceal or dispose of the animal, and it was shown he had a mania for riding, Justice Morgan properly concluded it was a clear case of no steal, and released the lad.
