The managers of the Republican organs of Jasper county are engaged m “thumping” poor old Jeff Davis, wUo has been deprived of his citizenship by leaders of the radical party—men, who, in outspoken treason only, were his equals; in brains and courage far his inferiors.—The men who, in 185 G, in their sectional convention, at Philadelphia, declared if they did not succeed with the ballot, they would with the bullet, but lacked the courage.—The men who were “willing to let the Union slide;” who denounced the Constitution, the Union and the flag were no better than Jeff Davis, and their followers hurt them every + ime they ‘thump’ the old ‘defunct.
