Lincoln’s Old Hat.

The old silk hat worn by Abraham Lincoln when he left Springfield, 111., for Washington to be inaugurated, in 1861, is carefully preserved by Mr. George Gibson, of New York. It is a badly battered old “stove-pipe,” and has on the inside lining the autograph of “A. Lincoln.” Lincoln, when he reached New York, was presented with a new hat by an enterprising hatter, and gave him the old hat in return. Mr. Gibson obtained it from his father, who was a well-known antiquarian.
