NATHANIEL /SCOTT, The oldest citizen in Jasper county, died at the residence of his son-in-law’, Conway Stone, a short distance west of town, last Saturday, Feb. 26th, aged 96 years, 10 mos. and 18 days. He was born in County Doneghal, Ireland, in 1790, and was brought to this country when but six years. He resided successively in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. He came to Jasper county in 1855. He served in the war of 1812 to its close. He cast his first presidential vote for Madison and his last for Clevel nd. He was twice married, first to Anna McDowell, who bore him six children and after h r death to Mrs. Sara Horner, who bore him four clndren Five survive him. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. Handley, at M. E. church, last Monday. The lunch and meals, gotten up by Antrim are attracting a patronage +o that establishment highly appreciated by the proprietor thereof. Antrim says his aim will be to deserve it. The accommodation now goes north as 9:13 a. m. and south at 8:20 p. m. The. forenaon mail south at 11:22 a. in.
