A NURSE'S FOOLISH NOTION.

A foolish notion prevalent among the lower classes in several countries is that a babe at the breast can be insured againss colic by being made to taste everything which the mother eats. The writer was once surprised to find her nurse about to give her baby cold slaw on this principle; the girl defending herself on the plea that her mother always did it, and that it was good for the child.— Cor.
