It is reported from Washington that at a meeting of the Cabinet it was decided to call in a large amount of bonds, in accordance with the surplus resolution, which the President hud failed to sign. The first call will be for $ 15,(XX1,00J. The President has appointed Thomas Cooper to be Collector of internal Revenue for the Eighth District of Illinois, and Nelson F. Ayres to be Collector of Internal Itevenue for the district of Kansas. These were nominations upon which the Senate failed to act The grand total of the appropriations made during the last session of Congress is $264,783,579.
