Work has commenced on the new buildings of J. T. Hemphill and John Eger. Wm. A. Erwin, after a protracted visit :n Kansas, is again circulating among friends in Rensselaer. Mr. Eisner claims that his new store is a counterpart of the Chicago Fair, and invites the people to call and ascertain that fact. H. R. W. Smith, of the New York World, with his wife, is enjoying his usual summer vacation with the Paxtons, in Newton township.
