Ground dry, and farmers wishing for rain. Corn plowing is the occupation of the sturdy farmer and his boys just now. M. B. Halstead has been putting in some tile on his farm.
Miss Ella Livingston, of Crown Point, is isiting he. sister, Mrs. A. C. Pancoast. The democrats have an excellent man before the people for Auditor, in the person of Lucius Strong, and he will undoubtedly make it too warm to be comfortable for Robinson, while fcloover, Brown and Shields w.ll “wake up’, their opponents. The eldest daughter of John T. Sa ler, who has been sick all spring, is again able to be up and around.
A number of persons went fromhere to the Commencement exercises, at Rensselaer, and were well pleased therewith. Many people are going fishing now-a-days, but their success in catching is limited. Mrs. and Miss Richardson, of Rensselaer, spent last week visiting friends and relatives here. The strawberry crop is heavy this year, and a feast is an every day occurrence. Democrat.
