Good for Wheat.
To show the patriotic spirit animating the Territorial press we present a few items clipped from different papers during the past year: “There was a heavy fall of snow last night. This will make splendid sleighing for Christmas. It will also be good for wheat. ” “Although the Fourth of July occurs next week we have had no rain in this vicinity since last fall. People unacquainted with the climate might think this was a bad thing, but we can assure such that it is most excellent for the wheat.” “The wild geese are already seen flying south, and we will doubtless have an unusually early winter. This is gratifying, as it assures an excellent wheat crop next season. ” “A severe hailstorm passed over this region early in the -week just as the farmers were commencing to harvest. We must congratulate our readers, as nothing is better for wheat at this stage of its growth.” “The eclipse of the sun here on Tuesday was the cause of much rejoicing among our farmers. It helped the wheat crop fifty per cent. ” “An Eastern professor predicts that this country will be visited by great swarms of grasshoppers, as was the case a few years ago. We can but hope his prophecy may prove correct, as nothing will make wheat boom right up to fifty bushels an acre like grasshoppers.”—Estelline (Dak.} Bell. I kno ov a man whose sole ambition sentered on hiz bekoming justic ov the pece, and whoz- famely, when he did finally assume charg ov the skails of justic, became ov much importance, and didn’t forget tu brag ov it long after hiz turm ran out and when he waz in realiti ov no more akount tu the nation than a maskaline peakok on parade in a barn-yard iz tu man’s redemptyon.' This would seem to indikat that ambition iz az lible tu “set up” some people az hot whiski doz some fools.— Jud Lafagan, in Chicago Ledger. A leading citizen of Hagerstown, Md., Mr. George W. Harris, had suffered for some time with facial neuralgia and toothache, when he tried St. Jacobs Oil. He says: “It gave me instantaneous relief, and I consider it a wonderful remedy.”
