The services at the M. E. church on last Sunday evening were under the direction of the Rensselaer Auxiliary of the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society. The house was crowded aud an interesting programme was rendered. The recitation by Miss Mamie Williams deserved special mention. At the conclusion Ol the exercises five new names were added to the membership. Fendig has just received a superb lot of Boots and Shoes which he offers at prices to suit the times. Eld. W. H. Hennegar, of Francesville, will conduct religious services at the new church near H. A. Barkley’s, in Barkley township, Sunday, June 6th, morning and afternoon. All are invited to bring their baskets and attend both services. During the storm on Wednesday of last week, Charlie, eldest son of John Chamberlain, received a severe shock from lightning. The graduating exercises of the Rensselaer Schools will be held at the Opera House, Thursday evening, June 3d. Prof. Reubelt will deliver an address. On behalf of the school board, M. L.
