BLACKFORD ITEMS. Democracy is booming in Bark--1 y township. The Democracy of Barkley met at Center school house on Wednesday. and nominated: For Trustee —Jas. Lougstreth. Assessor —Samuel Remley. Justice of the Peace —William Snedecker. Constables —S. Galbreath and N. C. Hamilton. William Durant is the happiest man in the county. It is a girl. People who marvel at the small extent of James Lougstreth’s possessions should remember that he runs a saw-mill most of the time and has few or nojopportunitiesto deal in cattle or engage in speculations. Prayer meeting at the Brushwood school every Thursday evening. Cattle are looking well at present. “Moss Back.”
George is sorely troubled over the removal of Miss Emma Conwell from the post office at Greensburg, Kansas. What a pity that Republicans must be removed from place. But the people so decreed. Miss Emma, no doubt, has turned up her pretty nose at Pie sight of a Democrat as fsequent’y ls soms others we might mention, and has no claims for ret ntion.
