A telegram from Eld. D. T, Halstead, Dakota, for his brother Micah, in Newton township, reached Rensselaer, Monday. It announced: “Ed is dying of a pistol-shot. Shall we send him or will you come?” The reply was to sei:d the body to this place for burial. The victim of the sad accident was a son of Micali Halstead, aged about 23, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. The remains arrived at this place Thursday evening. Funeral services at Church of God next Sunday, at 11 o’clock, a. m. Rev. David Handley will conduct the servic s.
