BALLOON ASCENSION o At the Remington Fair on next Tuesday afternoon, September Ist, 1885. Fendig has just received a superb lot of Boots and Shoes which he offers at prices to suit the times. Hodshire is engaged on the brick work of Leopold’s new business rooms. Farmers are referred to Gran ville Moody, of Barkley township as to the responsibility of the ‘Horn• Nursery.”
THE REMINGTON FAIR The Remington Fair this year ’ bids*fair to excel all its previous Fairs in the various live stock departments, and will be of greater general interest to the public than heretofore. The Fair commences Tuesday, September Ist, and continues three days. On the first day, in the after, noon, will be the grand BALLOON ASCENSION, and the two-year-old Colt trot. The second and third days will also be lively and busy days. Running and trotting races on both days. Make your arrangements for the Fair. Work has commenced on Mr. Stockton’s new residence. The Francesville Fair will commence on the 22d Sept. On the last Saturday of August, I will hold an examination foi admission to Purdue University. D. M. Nelson, Co. Supt’. Mr. John Cooper and wife, of Barkley township, are on the sick list. The Manon base ball club were to play the Rensselaer Kids, at this place, to-day, but failed to materialize. Thanks to the officers of the St. Lonis, Mo., State, and Remington Fair Associations for “complimentaries.” Ed. McCracken, formerly of this place, Imt now of Omaha, is visiting friends in Rensselaer. Dr. Wirt, dentist, of Monticello, accompanied by Iris wife, visited liensselear Saturday last. Rev. W. R. Nowels started this morning to attend the annual session of the Baptist Association. F. B. Meyer and wife visited Chicago Monday. Mrs. M. 0. Cissel is visiting her mother, in Miami county, this State. Mrs. James P. Overton died at her home in Hanging G rove township, Wednesday of last Aveek. Tiie new residence of Simon P. Thompson, Esq., is hoav undergoing the plastering process. The Days—father and sons—and Medicus are the mud artists. M. F. Cliilcote, Esq., returned from his Kansas trio last . Sunday evening.
