Briggs, professor of Hebrew in the Union Theological seminary, recently declared by the Interior t > be the most accomplished biblical scholar of this country, has cam l out strongly against the revisnd version of the Old Testament. He holds that the reviser made a great mistake in accepting as the basis of their work the same Massoretic Hebrew text that was used by the authors of King James’ version, and he concludes that in a short time the new version will need revising.
