Council Repartee.
First Alderman This ordinance says that hogs may run at large if they have rings in their noses. Second Alderman—That is correct. First Alderman—And it says precisely the same thing in regard to cows, horses, and jackasses running at large. Second Alderman—Certainly. First Alderman—Well, I am opposed to jaekasses being compelled to wear rings in their noses like hogs. Second Alderman Oh, well, you needn’t wear a ring in your nose if you don’t want to! It required four men to separate them. —Newman Independent. * * * Rupture radically cured, also pile tumors and fistulas. Pamphlet of particulars, two letter stamps.
