DEMOCRATIC MEETING!
The Democratic voters of Rensselaer are requested to meet at the Court House Tuesday Evening, April 28, 1885, at 7:30 o’clock, for the purpose of selecting a ticket to be voted for at the next Corporation election. By Order.

James Tull, of Lafayette, has completed several very handsome jobs of paper hanging and decorations for citizens of Rensselaer.— He will remain in our town another week, and those desiring his services should leave their orders at the Makeever House at once.

Monday evening last A. R. Rishling, ot Lee Station, and Richard Sparrow and C. W. Newbold, of Monon, were initiated into the A. O. U. W. of Rensselaer.
Mrs. Elizabeth A. Chilcote is still quite sick. • She is now suffering from Erysipelas in the right side of her face and head.
The Public Schools of Rensselaer will close June sth, this year, with appropriate exercises by the graduating class and others. Prof. Kirsch has shown his good judgment by securing the services of President George P. Brown, of the State Normal School at Terre Haute, who will be here and deliver an address on the occasion. Let every one take an interest in this matter, and let us convince our distingushed visitor, that Rensselaer proud of her Public School.
Rev. Zumbuilty and a corps of hands have been engaged during the week in adorning the grounds of St. Augustine church. Mr. Cyrus Foltz, father of Mrs. S. P. Thompson, of this place, died at his home in Oxford, on Sunday last, in his 54th year. The remains were brought to Rensselaer, Monday evening and interred in Weston cemetery.
