Pursuant to adjournment, the Teach - ' era or liaifttey Township met at the Center School House. Saturday, Feb. 1, 1885. At 10 39, Institute was called to order, Supt.. Kelson in the chair. Gengrophy, assigned to Mr. Guild, was presented in part bv, one of his pupils. Miss Grace NicWsf Her treatment of tho difficult poin t»o mathematical geography showed careful thought. Supt, Nelson ou suggestion of Mr Guild, gave a clear explanation; or our survey system and the description of lands, There were present daring the day a large number of visitora, not only pupils from the various schools but also some of the leading citizens. Tbe interest manifested, both by pat. tons and teachers, ' indicates -a healthy condition of our common school**, Gradation is being brought ueare to perfection, and an examination for graduation will be held this year for the first time In the rapid progress of our county in tbe cause of education, Barkley under the efficient lead of ear superintendent and trustee, will b* found well towards the front.
